Oxford & Foley, spread across 3 buildings and using 6 different colours of the elZinc range, demonstrated the scale and versatility that ARC can provide. Sitting atop a trio of historic Oxford St buildings, our role was to modernise and stylise the roofline of these buildings, while retaining their heritage and character. These new elevations also serve a purpose and include a range of rooftop businesses and social spaces, offering spectacular views of the surrounding Paddington and Darlinghurst area.
This project offered a great technical challenge, incorporating several of our specialist cladding techniques, pushing the capabilities of Zinc to the maximum in a way that only the ARC team can. The primary roof consists of standing seam panels, which have been curved to create a stunning sloped profile. The modules have been bookended by V25 interlocking cladding panels, raked at an angle that accentuates the roofline, and developing a crisp paneled wall with no visible seams or fixings. As the roof changes levels between the ends and centers, these intermediary walls have been clad using our flatlock cladding system. All of these elements have been tied together through an extensive range of custom flashings and covers.
